I have been around cameras since I can remember!
My late father was an avid photographer and I suppose I am walking in his footsteps, carrying on his legacy. What he taught me more than anything were not through words but, through what he captured in the images he took. He had a way of seeing the beauty in all things, especially nature. It would only be fitting that he was the one who gave me my first professional camera when I was 21. That is when I began to see life as he did-through a camera lens. I became inspired by the beauty of photographing people.
My journey started when I began photographing friends getting ready on their wedding day. In the coming years, I partnered with a friend, shooting weddings. In 2006 when my first child was born, I obsessively took her pictures, capturing her every move. In 2008, after my second daughter was born I continued to grow and expand my knowledge of photography.
Becoming a mother reawakened in me something creative, an outlet if you will. As I grieved the loss my my father unexpectedly several years ago, I became sure that I was meant to be behind the lens, capturing the many things he never got to see. I continue to push myself by learning and growing in my knowledge of the art of photography.
